Many Moons

By BlackListPoet

I started talking about poetry
in my sleep again.
And when I say poetry,
I mean the way your lips move like a
lightning storm and the way the
thunder roars inside of your chest.

I wake up
with you written all over me.
The piano reads the notes
written across my fingertips and
plays me like I am
the instrument.
The sunlight stops to listen
as it drips down the window
and I find you in the glare.

Your skin is quivering forgiveness
and I am a sinner,
ready to confess.

There are days I am scared
of being blinded by the light
leaking from your veins,
and then you touch me
and all I can think is
stay
please stay.
There is always time for leaving later
but for now
please stay.

You are the only one I can kiss
without leaving craters everywhere.
You are the only one I can hold
without waiting for the moon
to come out first.

Another amazing piece of poetic art. I like how you define her captivating allure through simile and metaphorical originality. Nicely inked :) First and third stanzas are my favorite, but it's all stellar crafting.
