Miss Schengen

By TropicalSnowstorm

Miss Schengen, Miss Schengen,
what are you thinkin’?
You have massive daddy issues,
or maybe “Fatherland” to be precise.
You give out the key
to the front door for free
in the hopes all the poor boys
will tell their friends you are nice.

Miss Schengen, Miss Schengen,
who’s that you’re bringin’?
Another stranger to dinner
to show you care for the poor.
You think they all like you,
but they break things to spite you.
The best way to host guests
is to unlock your own door.

Miss Schengen, Miss Schengen,
what have you been drinkin’?
You’ve promised 400 people
they can rent the same room tonight.
You think you’re altruistic,
but it's quite paternalistic
to think if everyone lives with
you it will make things all right.

Schengen migrant crisis. Love the daddy issues line -'fatherland' holocaust guilt maybe part of reason why Germany is particularly accepting of migrants refugees etc. Clever satire. Good stuff.

wondering now if there's any connection with a MIss Schuggenah I once new TS, but my Yiddish is sketchy. Terriffic job here on both the macro and micro scales of humanity, hopeful youth, and the give and take of society when consequences get in the way. Very tongue and cheek and it just kept getting better. Cheers and happy holidays! - Dan

Thanks, I was definitely going for a song with this one - a drinking song type of tune. Ciao, T/S Scholar
